Featured Worker: Samantha

The name of our featured worker is Samantha.   Her interests are figure skating, sewing and making friends.  She is 23 years old.  The schools she attended were Delkeith Elementary School, Lester B. Pearson High School and John Grant High School.  Samantha has graduated from high school and is now attending Filion Adult Center.

Samantha has known Patricia and Shannon for 20 years.  What she likes making most of all in the business group are baby rag blankets.  She learned how to make a budget in the business group.  Samantha thinks this is the most useful skill for her future.  The gift she brings to the group is enthusiastic sales skills.  She’s raising her money for an apartment.

Looking For Donations

Dear Friends and Families ,

At the business group we are making wine /gift bags and we are short of string to tie them. If have any disposable gift bags that you do not need we would be grateful if you could donate the string to our group.

We are also hunting for larger buttons , They do not need to be a set as they are going to be used on our utensil holders.

Thanks in advance
The Broidery Bunch

An Exciting New Product Coming Soon.

This product  is  a fabric utensil  holder . As a group we have been brainstorming all the ways you could use our new product.
Here are a few we have so far,

* Have your own utensil with you so you do not have to use wasteful plastics at a food court /fast food restaurant

* Lunch Boxes

* Keep one in your glove compartment

* Take them on a trip

* Take them on  a picnic

* Patio and BB Q's ( great for keeping the flies away )

* When opened up you have a handy place mat and napkin ready for you .

Please help us with our brainstorming , Can you think of anything we missed ? Please add a comment to let us know what you think.
Thank- You The Broidery Bunch.

News from the Broidery Bunch

It has been a busy winter here at the Broidery Bunch.

We were lucky to have a booth at the WIAH information fair. We want to give  a special thank- you to Brandon as he was the one who volunteered to join us.
He did a fringing demonstration . This made many more people come and talk to
him and hear about how his business is run.

Michael , Brandon and  Samantha have been  working very hard at sharing the blog" Store Front ".

When the blog is shared we are getting more comments as well as requests for special orders.

Here are just a few of the special requests we have seen coming our way.

The twins’ are celebrating their confirmation this year. We will have a small party for them (16 of us in all) and I am giving out wine decanters as a party favour. I need to decorate them and thought the broidery bunch could make gift bags instead!! The boxes are 16 cm wide and 37 cm high (I would need the bags to be bigger, of course, with extra material at the top to tie a ribbon with some flowers). I would like the material to be a solid color (I am thinking a blue green) and have the following embroidered:

I would be intereseted in tablecoths, or a dog blanket if you made them.

Will you be doing any more monographed onesies? If so, I'd like to order one.

For homework this week:  You need to share the blog with two people you know. You need to help them make a comment. They do not need to buy anything but we are looking for feedback or idea's for other products.
Everyone has many chances  to log onto the blog during our group so now it is time to expand at home.
We are so excited to see the comments and feedback.

Patricia , Shannon , Kathleen and Monica.

Behind the Scenes

Here we are working to be ready for our Christmas stock It is now November we must keep moving forward.

After our next group Wednesday the 7th we will have our  for  first blankets ready for sale.

The blankets can be bought as is.  We also have the exciting option of embroidering a name on them to make it a personalized gift.

Do you have any ideas on how we can get our customers to see the blankets ?

Fringing is  not a fast process

Working on running stitch

Threading needles= calm nerves needed

The designing step
Another blanket getting closer to the end.
